Founding Client Offer

Last updated 28 May 2026

These terms govern the founding client offer provided by Luke Muldoon (referred to as “I”, “me”, or “my”) to clients who apply for a website build under the no upfront cost arrangement. By proceeding with the project you agree to these terms in full.

The offer

Under this arrangement, the website is built at no upfront charge in exchange for a minimum 12-month hosting commitment. This offer is available to new clients only and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.

What is included

  • A hand-coded static site or custom themed WordPress website, with the theme built entirely from scratch
  • Up to 5 pages (Home, About, Services, Contact, plus one additional page)
  • A contact form
  • Basic SEO setup including meta titles, meta descriptions, and sitemap submission
  • One round of revisions following delivery
  • Domain registration assistance
  • Hosting setup and configuration

What is not included

  • E-commerce functionality
  • Membership or subscription systems
  • Custom functionality beyond a standard contact form
  • Copywriting or content creation of any kind
  • Photography or image sourcing
  • Ongoing maintenance beyond the initial launch period
  • Additional pages beyond the five included

Any work outside the scope above will be quoted separately and agreed in writing before proceeding.

Hosting

Hosting is charged at £15.99 + VAT per month and is billed monthly via Stripe. A minimum commitment of 12 months is required from the date the site goes live.

After the initial 12-month period, hosting continues on a rolling monthly basis at a reduced rate of £9.99 + VAT per month. Either party may cancel the ongoing hosting arrangement with 30 days written notice after the minimum term has been completed.

Upon cancellation after the minimum term, all website files, databases, and assets will be provided to the client in full. Domain transfer will be arranged at no additional cost.

Domain names

Where a domain name is purchased on the client’s behalf, it will be registered in the client’s name from the point of purchase. The cost of the domain is charged to the client at the prevailing rate, from £12.99 + VAT per year. Domain renewal is the client’s responsibility after the first year unless a separate arrangement is agreed.

Early cancellation

If the client cancels the hosting arrangement before the 12-month minimum term is completed, a cancellation fee equivalent to the remaining months of the minimum term will be charged. For example, if a client cancels after 6 months, 6 months of hosting fees become immediately due.

Content and copy

The client is responsible for supplying all written content and images required for the website. Content must be provided in a timely manner and in a suitable format.

All written content supplied must be original and owned by the client. Content must not be copied or adapted from other websites, publications, or any third party source without appropriate permission or licence. The client accepts full responsibility for any copyright infringement arising from content they supply.

All images supplied must be either owned outright by the client, licenced for commercial use, or sourced from a reputable royalty-free source such as Unsplash or Pexels. Images found via Google Image Search or taken from other websites are not acceptable unless the client can demonstrate they hold the appropriate licence. The client accepts full responsibility for any copyright infringement arising from images they supply.

Images must be supplied at the following minimum dimensions:

  • Full width or hero images: 1920px wide minimum
  • General content images: 800px wide minimum
  • Portrait or profile images: 600px wide minimum

Images supplied below these dimensions may not be used and the client will be required to source suitable replacements. Project timelines will not be extended to accommodate delays caused by unsuitable image supply.

Project timeline

The website must go live within 60 days of the project start date. The project start date is defined as the date on which all content, images, and required information have been received in full.

If content is not received within 30 days of the initial project agreement, the project will be paused until all content is supplied. The 60-day timeline will not begin until all content has been received.

If the project cannot go live within 60 days due to delays caused by the client, I reserve the right to terminate the agreement. In this event any domain costs incurred will remain payable by the client.

Revisions

One round of revisions is included following the delivery of the completed website. Revisions are defined as amends to existing content, copy, layout, or styling within the agreed pages. Revisions do not include the addition of new pages, new functionality, structural redesign, or content that was not supplied at the outset of the project. Additional revisions beyond the included round will be quoted and agreed separately.

Ownership

Upon completion of the minimum 12-month hosting term and settlement of all outstanding payments, the client owns the website in full. All files, assets, and databases will be transferred to the client upon request.

During the minimum term, the website is hosted and maintained by me. The client does not have the right to move the website to alternative hosting during this period without settling the remaining hosting fees in full.

Portfolio and case study use

By proceeding with this offer, the client agrees that the completed website may be used as a portfolio piece and case study. This includes displaying screenshots of the site, referencing the project publicly, and sharing Lighthouse performance scores. If the client would prefer not to be referenced by name, this can be agreed in writing before the project begins.

Limitation of liability

I will make every effort to ensure the website is built to a high standard and functions correctly at the point of launch. I am not liable for any loss of business, revenue, or opportunity arising from website downtime, errors, or third party service failures beyond my reasonable control.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Clients will be notified of any material changes. Continued use of the hosting service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
